Allergan can’t search rival employees’ personal phones in trade secret suit, US court says

By Nick Robertson ( March 19, 2025, 18:00 GMT | Insight) -- A special master appointed to handle discovery disputes between Allergan and Revance Therapeutics on Monday denied Allergan’s attempt to search the personal cell phones of four former employees who had left for Revance. The special master said Revance does not have control of the devices, so they can not be searched. Allergan sued Revance for trade secret misappropriation in 2023, alleging the employees took information about Botox and Juvederm to the rival.Allergan’s motion to compel information from the personal cell phones of former employees who left for rival Revance Therapeutics was denied Monday, with a special master in the Middle District of Tennessee deciding that Revance doesn’t have “control” over the devices....
