US apparel companies win protection in UK for ‘Douglas & Fir’ trademark

In a newly released decision, the UK Intellectual Property Office rejected claims of likely confusion by opponent Douglas & Grahame Limited, owner of two existing UK trademarks for “Douglas & Grahame” and “Douglas.”The UK Intellectual Property Office was not convinced that an international registration, or IR, for “Douglas & Fir” would conflict with two earlier UK trademarks for “Douglas & Grahame” and “Douglas.”...
