US tightens Iran sanctions licensing policy, fine for violations
( September 10, 2026, 20:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued a licensing policy update and an enforcement action. Effective immediately, OFAC is considering Iran-related specific license applications with a presumption of denial, except as required by law or in certain circumstances, the agency said. OFAC also announced that an individual agreed to pay $1.4 million to settle their potential civil liability for providing management consulting and advisory services to one of Iran's leading software solutions companies.Full notice follows.
