UK SFO agents paid bribes in London Mining probe, defense filing alleges
By Martin Coyle ( May 22, 2026, 16:11 GMT | Insight) -- Expert agents working for the UK's Serious Fraud Office in Sierra Leone paid bribes to public officials there to obtain evidence in its now abandoned prosecution of London Mining executives, lawyers for the cleared defendants are alleging as they seek to have the SFO foot a bill of more than £9.6 million for their legal costs. The agency has denied claims of improper actions, including bribe payments.
