US senators propose extending statute of limitations in foreign bribery cases

( March 9, 2026, 15:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A group of Democratic US senators has introduced The FCPA Reinforcement Act to strengthen enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in response to the Trump administration's narrowed enforcement of the anti-bribery law.  The FCPA Reinforcement Act would extend from five to 10 years the statute of limitations for criminal violations of the three anti-bribery provisions of the FCPA, the senators said.Statement follows below.
