US seeks to block businessman from citing Trump executive order at bribery trial

( August 7, 2025, 15:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Federal prosecutors asked a US judge to block a Georgia businessman from offering evidence or argument at his upcoming trial related to government charging decisions, including as it relates to a review of the case under President Donald Trump's executive order pausing enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. “The government’s receipt of authorization to proceed with this prosecution following the review mandated by the executive order, and the internal deliberative process that led to such permission, have no bearing on the facts of this case and would make no fact of consequence more or less probable,” prosecutors said in a filing.Document attached....
