Poker-machine operator Mounties contravened AML laws, Australian watchdog says

( July 30, 2025, 01:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian poker-machine giant Mount Pritchard District and Community Club, trading as Mounties, is the target of civil-penalty proceedings over alleged “serious and systemic non-compliance” with the country’s anti-money laundering laws. In a statement announcing the Federal Court of Australia action, the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre said Mounties had contravened the AML/CTF Act by providing gaming services to its customers in circumstances where it had not adopted and maintained its AML compliance program, leaving the company open to criminal exploitation.
