Alleged BTC-e exchange operator's US trial delayed

By Mike Swift ( May 22, 2025, 22:07 GMT | Insight) -- The trial of Aliaksandr Klimenka, who has been accused by US authorities of helping to run the criminal BTC-e digital currency exchange that allegedly laundered billions of dollars of proceeds from global cyberattacks, has been delayed to Oct. 20 at the earliest. Klimenka's lawyers are trying to arrange depositions in Poland of witnesses who they say could exonerate their client. The trial of a man accused of laundering billions of dollars of proceeds from ransomware and other cyberattacks will be delayed nearly three months while the defense tries to depose witnesses outside of the United States....
