The credits could also become available to independent manufacturers that pool their fleets to meet CO2 targets. Countries are separately considering additional flexibility for vans, including enhanced credits for EU-made electric models.Green steel credits for cars could be introduced as soon as 2030 instead of 2035, according to a draft working document from Ireland, which steers negotiations among member states on the Automotive Package, introduced by the European Commission in December 2025 (see here)....
