China moves to curb collusion in renewable-power bidding by tightening rules

( December 11, 2025, 09:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s top economic planner and energy regulator on Thursday issued trial rules tightening how centralized renewable-power companies submit market bids, warning that improper project pooling could distort competition and disrupt electricity-market order. Centralized bidding refers to multiple enterprises submitting bids together at a fixed location to participate in electricity-market transactions. According to the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, these bidding companies must be limited to projects under the same corporate parent within a single province, and competitors are barred from coordinating prices or reaching monopoly agreements.
