European airlines to modify environmental claims seen as misleading, EU says

( November 7, 2025, 12:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Twenty-one European airlines, including Air France, Lufthansa, Ryanair, Vueling and EasyJet, have pledged to modify environmental claims that consumer groups had said were misleading, the European Commission said. Under an agreement reached with the Consumer Protection Cooperation Network, the airlines will no longer claim that CO2 emissions can be reduced or offset through consumers’ financial contributions to climate protection or sustainable aviation fuel projects.
