EU cement industry needs multiple policies to decarbonize, NGO says

( October 8, 2025, 09:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU should use a range of policies simultaneously to help decarbonize the cement industry as there is a no single pathway that will ensure climate neutrality, environmental group Bellona Europa said on Wednesday. In a report it said policies that could help included resource efficiency, clinker substitution, fuel switching and permanent carbon capture, but if they are not deployed at the same time there was a risk of not having the necessary value chain and infrastructure in place to reach net-zero by 2050. Report attached....
