Right-wing lawmakers object to EU methodology on low-carbon hydrogen emissions

( September 18, 2025, 18:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU lawmakers from the European Conservatives and Reformists Group and the European People’s Party objected to the EU’s proposed delegated act on a methodology for calculating greenhouse-gas emissions from low-carbon hydrogen. The current text “is discriminatory" as it prevents low-carbon hydrogen production in countries with lower access to renewables, lawmakers said in their objection. The European Commission should redraft a new act “by mid-2026 at the latest” to take lawmakers’ concerns into account. The motion will be voted on next week by the European Parliament’s energy committee.See attached file....
