Ecodesign rules review for electric motors open for feedback in EU

( August 25, 2025, 13:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today opened a public consultation to review its ecodesign rules for electric motors and variable speed drives — electronic devices that control electric motors’ speed and torque. The measures, adopted in 2019, set minimum efficiency targets and information requirements for energy-related products, so as to reduce their consumption, lower bills and support a circular economy. The review will assess the effectiveness of these measures in light of technological improvements and evolving market conditions.
