Renewables accounted for nearly a fifth of EU energy supply in 2022

( August 19, 2025, 13:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Renewables made up 18.9 percent of the EU’s total energy supply in 2022, compared with the global average of 13.9 percent in 2021, according to the EU’s report published today on key figures on the EU in the world. Brazil led non-EU countries with 46.1 percent, while Saudi Arabia had just 0.1 percent. For final energy consumption, renewables accounted for 12.2 percent in the EU in 2022, also slightly above the global average of 11.8 percent in 2021. Brazil again led with 28.4 percent, followed by India and Indonesia, the report shows.Statement follows. Document attached....
