US exporters could get leeway on methane reporting rules, EU says

While it’s too early to say whether the EU methane rules will be included in the EU-US joint statement expected soon following their tariff agreement last week, the European Commission official said that there may be room for flexibility in how the regulation is implemented, without altering its core objective.The European Union may be open to more flexibility in applying methane reporting rules to fossil fuel importers without having to re-open the regulation, an EU senior official said during a press briefing today....
