Guidance issued on how to recover hydrogen infrastructure costs in EU

( July 29, 2025, 14:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hydrogen network operators today received new guidance from EU energy regulator ACER on recovering hydrogen infrastructure costs through an “inter-temporal cost allocation mechanism.” To support Europe’s hydrogen network development, system operators should be allowed to recover costs gradually over time, ACER said in a statement. EU member states should coordinate their cost allocation mechanisms to ensure full cost recovery, and should support network development plans with transparent and reliable data, it said.
