Infringement opened against most EU members for delaying renewable directive adoption

( July 24, 2025, 12:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today opened infringement proceedings against nearly all EU member states, for failing to adopt the amended EU Renewable Energy Directive into national law. Member states were required to notify the transposition of provisions supporting renewable energy development by May 21 this year, and those related to speeding up renewable permitting by July 1, 2024. So far, only Denmark has complied with the deadlines. The remaining 26 countries now have two months to act and inform the commission of the measures they've adopted.Full statement follows:...
