EU’s ban on Russian gas imports should be moved up by one year, lawmakers say

To streamline the legislative process, lead negotiators of the energy committee are skipping the normal first wave of amendments and instead plan to hold a single general round of proposed changes. EU importers of Russian liquefied and pipeline natural gas should face an earlier deadline to terminate existing long-term contracts, said key lawmakers on the European Parliament's energy committee in a new report today....
