EU due diligence rules for battery makers postponed by two years

( July 11, 2025, 15:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Battery makers will see their due diligence rules postponed by two years after the European Parliament’s full assembly vote yesterday. These obligations, which will now enter into force on Aug. 18, 2027, also apply to the battery supply chain, from sourcing to processing, and trading of raw materials such as cobalt, lithium and nickel. The move allows more time for compliance with the new rules for the battery supply chain. The European Commission is now expected to provide guidance on how to apply the due diligence rules.Full regulation attached:...
