German hydrogen, power industry should receive more public funds, association says

( July 9, 2025, 15:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Germany’s hydrogen and electricity sectors should receive clear and targeted financial support from the federal government, the German energy industry association BDEW said in a statement today. According to Germany’s draft federal budget for 2025, electricity tax relief would apply only to the manufacturing, agricultural, and forestry sectors, excluding other industries and private households, BDEW noted. Hydrogen projects are also being scaled back, discouraged by a tighter budget compared to 2024, the group said. The association urged the government to reconsider its budget plan in order to strengthen support for Germany’s clean tech industry.Full press release follows (in German):...
