Lack of aircraft innovation putting aviation green targets at risk, T&E says

( June 18, 2025, 15:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Aircraft manufacturers' reliance on conventional technology is putting the aviation sector’s decarbonization targets at risk, Transport & Environment said in a report that calls for European policymakers to end aviation tax exemptions and support zero-emission technology. Innovation and faster adoption of cleaner technologies could increase aviation efficiency by 13 percent and cut 123 million metric tons of aviation emissions by 2050, the equivalent of 62 million cars' emissions, it said.
