Portugal, Romania warned to comply with EU ecodesign, energy labeling rules

( June 18, 2025, 10:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Portugal and Romania must fully comply with EU rules on ecodesign and energy labelling of products, the European Commission said today. EU legislation sets out that member states must ensure effective market surveillance, which include having a national market surveillance authority. The commission considers that the two countries are not compliant with this obligation. Portugal and Romania have two months to address this issue or risk further action from the EU's executive arm. Statement follows....
