Sustainable jet fuel industry risks EU penalties without mature production technologies

Most sustainable aviation fuels currently rely on a process that converts oils, fats and waste oils into fuel using hydrogen. However, the limited availability of these feedstocks risks constraining future growth, SkyNRG warns. Without alternative, commercially viable technologies, the sector may face significant penalties for failing to comply with EU targets by 2030.The global sustainable aviation fuel industry is growing, with supply doubling in 2024 thanks to supportive regulations in the EU and the UK, says SkyNRG in its 5th Market Outlook published today (see here)....
