Stick to 1.5°C, follow the science for a 2040 climate target, EU lawmakers say

( May 23, 2025, 10:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU countries should stick to their climate pledges to limit global warming to a 1.5°C goal, and should submit their plans well before the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference, the European Parliament’s environment committee has said. This non-binding proposal is intended to set the stage for the EU ahead of the COP30 conference, taking place in Belém, Brazil in November.Full document attached...
