Renewable hydrogen projects awarded EUR992 million of EU funding

( May 20, 2025, 11:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Fifteen renewable hydrogen production projects in the EU have been selected for public funding, totaling 992 million euros, the European Commission said today, announcing results of the second European Hydrogen Bank auction. These projects, across five countries — Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and Norway — are expected to produce nearly 2.2 million metric tons of renewable hydrogen over 10 years, for sectors such as transportation, the chemical industry, and the production of methanol and ammonia. They will produce the hydrogen "with a subsidy that will help to close the price difference between their production costs and the market price and accelerate the deployment of cleaner fuels," the commission said.Press release attached....
