Nord Stream 2 debt-restructuring agreement approved by Swiss court

( May 9, 2025, 12:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nord Stream 2, part of Russian gas company Gazprom, has reached a debt-restructuring agreement with its creditors, according to the Cantonal Court of Zug in Switzerland. The court had set a deadline of May 9 for Nord Stream 2 — which is based in Switzerland — to restructure its debts and repay small-scale creditors, warning of potential bankruptcy if these conditions weren't met. Nord Stream 2 was intended to deliver Russian gas to Germany via the Baltic Sea. The pipeline was completed in 2021, but has never become operational, due to deteriorating relations with Moscow even before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.Press release follows. ...
