German CDU presents designated ministers, including trade, energy and digital

( April 28, 2025, 09:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German Chancellor-designate Friedrich Merz today announced the names of the seven individuals who are due to serve as ministers for his conservative CDU party in the incoming government. The CDU has nominated Katherina Reiche as minister for economic affairs and energy. Reiche was CEO of Westerenergie, Germany’s largest regional energy service provider and distribution system operator. Karsten Wildberger, former CEO of the retail company CECONOMY, is to become minister for the new ministry for digitalization and state modernization.
