GE prevails in US challenge to eligibility of two LPP fuel system patents

According to the court, LPP Combustion LLC’s patents are directed at the abstract idea of collecting, analyzing and using data and the claims lack an inventive concept. The ruling removes a cloud over GE’s Competitive Power Ventures power plant in Pennsylvania, where a gas turbine with dual ethane and natural gas capabilities was accused by LPP of infringement.US Judge Gregory B. Williams of the US District of Delaware declared more than two dozen claims over two LPP Combustion LLC patents ineligible for patenting....
