( August 17, 2026, 04:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: ANZCO Foods’ proposal to acquire Greenlea Group has been cleared by New Zealand’s competition watchdog. In a statement on Monday, New Zealand’s Commerce Commission said its investigation indicated that the merged entity will continue to face sufficient competitive constraint from other existing competitors in the acquisition of cattle for processing and supply of processed beef products, beef by-products and rendered products. The regulator had previously identified potential concerns around the acquisition of cattle for processing in the North Island and the domestic supply of processed beef products. It added that the written reasons for the decision will be available in due course.Statement follows....
