Japan's Daiwa Securities Group to acquire Orix Bank for $2.3 billion

The transaction would involve integrating Daiwa Next Bank with internet-based Orix Bank. The aim is to combine Daiwa Next’s stable deposit base — supported by Daiwa Securities’ customer network — with Orix Bank’s lending and trust capabilities, particularly in real estate finance. The deal would make Orix Bank a wholly owned subsidiary of Daiwa Next Bank.
