Daikin's proposal to acquire Australian air conditioning group to be reviewed

( April 17, 2026, 08:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The proposal to acquire Australian Air Conditioning & Mechanical Services Group, via an asset acquisition from Damday, by Daikin Industries, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Airmaster Corporation, will be reviewed under Australia’s mandatory merger regime. In a statement on Friday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that Daikin operates in Australia through its wholly owned subsidiary, Daikin Australia, whose principal activities consist of the manufacture and distribution of air conditioning equipment. The regulator added that Australian Air Conditioning & Mechanical Services Group is a mechanical services contractor operating in the construction, HVAC and mechanical services industries.
