Nexstar, Tegna, merger challengers disagree on how to revise temporary restraining order

( April 7, 2026, 21:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Local TV news station operators Nexstar Media Group and Tegna have proposed that a US court's March 27 temporary restraining order preventing them from integrating their business operations exclusively applies within regions where Nexstar and Tegna TV channels overlap with one another. The companies have also requested permission to "negotiate or renegotiate" retransmission deals with TV service providers while the TRO is applicable. Plaintiffs objected to the proposal, telling the court that "rather than attempt to meet and confer on the modifications that the Court actually asked the parties to address, Defendants raised — yesterday afternoon — a host of additional matters that had nothing at all to do with those modifications."See attached document....
