Indonesia's KPPU opens hearing into Iforte Solusi over late acquisition notice

( March 2, 2026, 03:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Indonesian Competition Commission has opened a preliminary hearing into PT Iforte Solusi Infotek, a telecom infrastructure and internet service provider, over the late notification of its acquisition of PT MCP Indo Utama. In a statement Friday, the antitrust regulator said Iforte acquired a 62.47 percent stake in MCP Indo Utama for 12.5 billion rupiah ($742,500) in a transaction that became legally effective on Sept. 26, 2023. Under the applicable rules, the company was required to notify the KPPU within 30 working days of the transaction becoming legally effective, or by Nov. 7, 2023, but it submitted its notification on Nov. 8, one working day late.
