Cvent's proposal to acquire ON24 reviewed in Australia

( February 23, 2026, 07:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Cvent Atlanta’s proposal to acquire cloud-based engagement platform ON24 through the merger of Summit Sub Corp, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Cvent, with ON24, will be reviewed by the Australian competition watchdog. In a statement published on Monday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Cvent, solely controlled by investment funds managed by affiliates of Blackstone, provides meetings, events and hospitality technology. The regulator said ON24 provides tools for webinars and virtual events. The regulator added that while Cvent provides cloud-based services for hospitality and event management and limited webinar services in Australia, ON24 supplies webinar services and virtual event services software in the country.
