Devon Energy, Coterra Energy to merge in deal worth $58 billion

( February 2, 2026, 14:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Devon Energy Corporation and Coterra Energy announced their plan to merge in a deal worth approximately $58 billion. The surviving company will be named Devon Energy and "create a leading large-cap shale operator with a high-quality asset base anchored by a premier position in the economic core of the Delaware Basin," the companies said.
