Japan's Honda to take control of Astemo with additional stake from Hitachi

The deal will give Honda a 61 percent stake, allowing it to make Astemo a consolidated subsidiary as part of its strategy to strengthen software-defined vehicle technologies. The Tokyo-based automaker expects to complete the transaction in the second quarter of 2026, subject to antitrust clearance and other required regulatory approvals.
