Historic merger remedies for 37 deals under UK review to be lifted

( December 8, 2025, 11:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Merger remedies for 37 deals that are historic or obsolete will be lifted under plans published on Monday by the UK antitrust regulator to reduce the regulatory burden on businesses. Two of the mergers relate to rail franchises that have been brought back into public ownership and the rest are over 10 years old, the Competition and Markets Authority said. The CMA imposes merger remedies to resolve any competition concerns it finds following a merger investigation. It will consult on the plans to “release” the remedies until Jan. 7.Statement follows....
