Digitec-ICTHL telecommunications deal is filed for clearance in Papua New Guinea

( October 29, 2025, 00:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Telecommunications business Digitec ICT’s plans to merger with ICT Holding, or ICTHL, has been listed for clearance with the antitrust regulator of Papua New Guinea. In a statement, the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission said it was seeking public feedback on the deal, which will bring together the two subsidiaries owned by the Vodafone Fiji group of companies. Vodafone Fiji owns 100 percent of ICTHL and 51 percent of Digitec, with the remaining 49 percent stake owned by ICTHL. In its statement, the ICCC said this corporate arrangement meant both companies were effectively controlled by Vodafone Fiji. Digitec provides cloud-readiness assessments and ICT architecture consultation, along with internet services.
