MicroStar Logistics-Konvoy deal opposed by Australian antitrust watchdog

( October 23, 2025, 01:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The planned acquisition of Konvoy Holdings by MicroStar Logistics, a US-based keg services company, has been opposed by the Australian competition regulator. In a statement on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it had found that MicroStar’s acquisition of the assets of Konvoy, “the only other provider of keg pooling services in Australia,” would be likely to substantially lessen competition. The regulator said that while independent brewers can use their own kegs or leased kegs, these options serve different purposes and would not be a viable alternative if keg pooling prices increased following the acquisition. MicroStar entered the Australian market in 2021 through its acquisition of Kegstar from Brambles; Konvoy operates in Australia and New Zealand.The full statement follows:...
