Japan's Nittera to acquire sparkplug, sensor businesses from Denso

( September 2, 2025, 00:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nittera, a Japanese manufacturer of sparkplugs and technical ceramics, has agreed to acquire the sparkplug and exhaust-gas sensor businesses from major auto-parts maker Denso. The acquisition is valued at 180.6 billion yen ($1.2 billion), based on valuation data as of March 31, 2026. Nittera, headquartered in Nagoya, said that the closing date has yet to be determined, because the deal is subject to clearances from both domestic and foreign competition authorities, along with other necessary permits or approvals. According to Nikkei, Nittera's global market share for sparkplugs is expected to increase to approximately 60 percent after the merger. The statement is attached....
