Booking's EU court fight over Etraveli deal veto examines enforcers' evidence

As well as arguing at the General Court that the European Commission erred by departing from its merger guidelines “without justification” and by basing its veto on a poorly constructed “counterfactual,” Booking said that even a “correct” counterfactual would show only a "negligible" increase in its share of the online hotel booking market.Booking told EU judges today that merger enforcers incorrectly vetoed the company's takeover of Etraveli as they didn’t show enough evidence to prove it would harm competition....
