Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines get conditional cooperation clearance

( July 7, 2025, 10:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore, or CCCS, has conditionally cleared a proposed commercial cooperation between Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines after accepting commitments to address competition concerns. The CCCS found that the agreement would restrict competition on the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur route. However, with market developments including Jetstar Asia’s planned exit, the CCCS decided to accept the proposed commitments by the two airlines. These include maintaining pre-cooperation seat capacity, reporting the operations of their respective low-cost carriers and appointing an independent auditor.The full statement is attached....
