Mitsui admits to late merger filing in Indonesia over Position Partners deal

( June 11, 2025, 09:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese firm Mitsui & Co. and its Australian arm have admitted to notifying the Indonesian Competition Commission, or KPPU, late about their acquisition of Australia’s Position Partners, the parent company of geo-spatial and mining contractor Position Partners Indonesia. The regulator said Mitsui & Co. and Mitsui & Co. (Australia) acquired additional shares in Position Partners, giving them control of 50.00001 percent of the company. Under Indonesian merger control rules, they were required to notify the KPPU within 30 working days of the deal becoming legally effective, or by Aug. 9, 2022.
