Surmodics asks court to compel Philips Healthcare to comply with subpoena in US FTC merger case

( June 3, 2025, 12:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Surmodics asked the US District Court for the District of Illinois to compel Philips Healthcare to comply with a subpoena to produce information about devices it manufactured or sold with lubricious coatings, The US Federal Trade Commission filed suit March 6 to prevent GTCR from acquiring medical device company Surmodics alleging the proposed acquisition "would create a combined company controlling more than 50% of the market for outsourced hydrophilic coatings." Philips is a key nonparty witness in the case because its purchases of outsourced lubricious coatings and its use of in-sourced coatings bear on critical issues in the case, Surmodics said in the court filing.  See file attachment. ...
