US FTC seeks comment on Exxon consent order banning Pioneer founder from board

( April 11, 2025, 18:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission is seeking public comment on a petition filed by Pioneer Natural Resources founder and former Chief Executive Scott Sheffield requesting the commission vacate its consent order involving ExxonMobil's acquisition of Pioneer. The agency announced a consent order in January that prohibits Exxon "from nominating, designating, or appointing Sheffield to the Exxon Board of Directors or from having him serve in an advisory capacity in any way to the Exxon board or Exxon’s management."
