Japan's Monogatari says app breach hits nearly 10.8m users

( October 6, 2026, 02:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese restaurant operator Monogatari said Monday that personal information belonging to nearly 10.8 million users of the official app for Yakiniku King, one of Japan’s largest grilled-meat restaurant chains, was leaked following unauthorized access to its membership management system. The publicly listed company said the leaked data include membership numbers, registered names, email addresses and phone numbers, while passwords and payment information were not exposed. Monogatari added that it is reporting the breach to Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission and filing a police report.Statement is attached (in Japanese)....
