Japan Digital Agency says 246,000 personal-data records may have leaked

( September 11, 2026, 04:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s Digital Agency said Friday that personal information relating to about 246,000 government employees and others may have leaked after unauthorized access to the Government Solution Service, the government’s shared network system. The unauthorized access was first detected in June, with the agency finding in July that an attacker had exploited a VPN vulnerability. The potentially affected information relates to employees of ministries and agencies using the system and others involved in their work, but doesn't include information on the general public, the agency added.The statement follows (in Japanese)....
