SK Telecom, Naver Cloud teams vie for South Korean cybersecurity AI model project
( August 26, 2026, 08:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Two consortia led by SK Telecom and Naver Cloud, respectively, have submitted proposals for a South Korean government project to develop a homegrown artificial intelligence foundation model specializing in cybersecurity, the Ministry of Science and ICT said Wednesday. SK Telecom has teamed up with 13 organizations and Naver Cloud with 32 to compete for the project, under which the government will provide access to advanced graphics processing units for 10 months. The ministry said it plans to announce the results of its evaluation of the two proposals by early September.
