Twenty-six apps, mostly WeChat mini-programs spanning online health care, education and ride-hailing, failed to adequately disclose privacy policies or key details about how personal information is handled. Another 39 apps, including one operated by drone-maker DJI, failed to fully specify how they, or embedded third parties, collect and use personal data. AI startup StepFun and 21 other apps were found to lack adequate security measures such as encryption or de-identification.
